Description
The military variant of the SmartTriage triage system is designed for use in demanding field conditions where large numbers of casualties must be assessed within a short period of time, treatment priorities established, and information communicated clearly throughout all stages of medical evacuation.
The system is based on the same fundamental triage principles as the civilian SmartTriage version, but its design, labelling, and information presentation are adapted to the requirements of military medicine and operational environments.
The triage tools enable structured documentation of the casualty’s condition, treatment provided, and other information relevant to subsequent care, helping facilitate patient handover between different stages of medical care and evacuation. Clear visual identification allows the assigned casualty priority to be recognised quickly and supports consistent decision-making by medical personnel even when casualty numbers are high, resources are limited, or environmental conditions are challenging.
The military SmartTriage variant can be used by military medical units, field medical facilities, throughout the evacuation chain, during mass-casualty exercises, and in other scenarios requiring systematic casualty triage and documentation.
Specific system components, colour coding, and the triage protocol used may vary depending on the selected SmartTriage version and configuration. Therefore, before ordering, it is recommended to assess the triage system used by the organisation and the intended application.
How does it differ from the civilian version?
