Description
HEMGUARD is a specialized pressure dressing designed to control bleeding in anatomical areas where conventional pressure dressings are difficult to secure reliably or where maintaining the required pressure is challenging. It is designed for wounds to the neck, axilla, groin, and amputated extremities, as well as other difficult-to-bandage areas where anatomical constraints make conventional circumferential bandaging difficult or impossible.
The integrated targeted pressure applicator in the HEMGUARD design allows pressure to be directed and maintained directly over the packed wound. This is particularly important after wound packing, when the gauze must remain securely in position and consistent pressure must be maintained not only during initial treatment but also while the casualty is being moved, transported, or evacuated. Proper stabilization of the packing material helps prevent displacement and reduces the risk of disrupting an already formed blood clot.
The four-way strap system allows the dressing to be secured from different directions according to the wound location and the casualty’s anatomy. This method of fixation is particularly useful in the groin, axilla, or neck, where a standard pressure dressing often cannot be wrapped and secured effectively. The system helps stabilize the dressing and keep the pressure applicator in the required position throughout bleeding control.
HEMGUARD is designed for situations where it is essential not only to apply targeted pressure but also to maintain it reliably until the casualty is transferred for further medical care. Its design makes the dressing a practical solution for first aid providers, emergency and tactical medical personnel, and rescue professionals managing severe bleeding in difficult-to-bandage areas of the body.
