Description
When peripheral venous access cannot be established or obtaining intravenous access takes too long, intraosseous access provides a means of administering medications and fluids directly into the bone marrow cavity.
NIO Adult is an automatic intraosseous access device designed for adults and intended for rapid, controlled use when immediate alternative vascular access is required. It is a self-contained, ready-to-use device with the needle concealed inside the housing until activation.
The device is positioned against the selected anatomical insertion site and activated by applying pressure, causing the mechanism to automatically insert the needle into the bone marrow cavity. This design eliminates the need for a separate powered drill or other additional insertion equipment.
Manufacturer-designed safety mechanisms help reduce the risk of accidental activation during transport, storage, or preparation for use.
