SAM IO Stabilizer for Intraosseous Needles
The simulated thermal burn wound is designed for realistic first aid, emergency and tactical medicine, and civil protection training. Its realistic appearance helps recreate practical scenarios and develop skills in injury recognition, casualty assessment, and emergency care.
The self-adhesive backing allows the wound simulation to be applied directly to the casualty simulator’s skin without additional adhesive or makeup. The simulation is reusable and can be transferred from one casualty simulator to another. If adhesion decreases, the surface can be washed with warm soapy water and reused once dry.
Suitable for training and simulation centres, healthcare and vocational training institutions, military organisations, uniformed services, and first aid instructors.

Description
Successful insertion of an intraosseous needle is only the first step in establishing reliable vascular access. Proper stabilization is equally important, especially when the patient needs to be moved, transported, or evacuated.
The SAM IO Intraosseous Needle Stabilizer IO740-1P is designed to provide additional stabilization of an inserted intraosseous needle and protect it from unwanted movement. The stabilizer helps maintain the needle in the correct position and reduces the risk of displacement or accidental removal when the patient is moved.
This is particularly important in emergency and tactical medical settings, where the patient may need to be lifted onto a stretcher, transferred into a vehicle, or evacuated over uneven terrain. In such situations, even a correctly inserted needle may be exposed to external forces, making secure stabilization important for maintaining established intraosseous access.
The stabilizer is part of the SAM IO Intraosseous Access System and is used with an inserted SAM IO needle. Its design helps stabilize the needle at the insertion site while maintaining access for subsequent procedures.
