Description
The orange C-A-T Gen 7 tourniquet is a high-visibility tourniquet designed to control life-threatening extremity bleeding. Its construction and technical specifications are identical to those of the black C-A-T Gen 7 model, while the orange colour provides enhanced visibility.
The high-visibility colour makes the tourniquet easier to locate quickly in a first aid or medical kit and easier to identify once applied during casualty assessment or triage. This can be particularly useful in situations where care must be provided under time pressure, when managing multiple casualties, or when the patient is transferred to another medical team.
The C-A-T Gen 7 features a freely moving internal band that creates circumferential pressure around the limb as the windlass rod is turned, helping control life-threatening extremity bleeding. The single-routing buckle design simplifies application and allows the tourniquet to be used in a variety of conditions.
The reinforced windlass rod is designed to facilitate achieving the required tension, while the bevelled stabilisation plate helps keep the tourniquet securely positioned. Once the tourniquet has been applied and bleeding has been controlled, the windlass rod is securely locked in place, and the designated time strap allows the application time to be recorded.
The high-visibility orange colour does not change the tourniquet’s intended purpose or operating principle. It is a fully functional C-A-T Gen 7 model designed for real-world use, not a training version.
