Description

The vented chest seal is designed to reliably cover open chest wounds and help reduce the risk of tension pneumothorax. It features a rigid, raised-dome TRUFLOW valve designed to help maintain an air escape pathway even when the dressing is compressed by the patient’s clothing, stretcher, or body weight.
The one-way valve allows air to escape from the chest cavity while helping prevent air from re-entering through the wound.
The chest seal uses a hydrogel adhesive designed to provide reliable adhesion to the skin in challenging conditions, including wet or contaminated surfaces.
Its construction is intended for emergency care, tactical medicine, and prehospital environments where rapid access to a chest wound and reliable sealing are essential.

Why is the valve rigid and raised?
So it cannot be crushed shut by clothing or body weight.

Does the patient still need monitoring?
Yes – tension pneumothorax remains possible with a vented seal.
